Is mystery shopping a good way to earn extra money?

There are a number of mystery shopper scams out on the internet right now. The biggest is the FAKE CASHIERS CHECK scam. Be aware of this scam as it has cost many want to be mystery shoppers their life's savings, some have been lucky enough to lose only several hundred dollars.(If you can call that lucky) I don't entirely understand how it is that someone can trust someone that contacts them about a job that they the person contacted has not applied for.

There are real mystery shopping companies on the internet. You can tell the real ones from the scams. Email them and you never get a personal reply, they will not disclose their refund policy until after you have joined and they have no getting started guides to help you get going.

Your best bet in seeking a mystery shopping job is to become educated about what you are looking into. I have found that best place to start (at least in my opinion) is TopSiteReviews.Info. They have a great review of the mystery shopping industry and the companies that are mystery shopping scams and the ones that are worth investing in.

What is a mystery shopper?

A mystery shopper is a hired independent contractor (Normally all though they can be employees on occasions) that gives quality control feed back report. They report on employee knowledge, and training to ensure great customer service, cleanliness of the establishment and quality of the products or services that are being sold. They can be hired to spy on a companies competition to find out what quality services and/or products that they are providing to their customers.

The mystery shopper has become one of the most valuable assets to many customer service industry as it provides a non-bias opinion for an owner to rate how their company is doing or what their competition has done to take away some of their business. In other industries it helps to find out what a company might be lacking in products that their customers are wanting or even needing to see in their store in order to continue to shop with them.

There is truth in the statement "you can make up to $25.00 an hour" shop at stores or eating at restaurants. Now is the time there are a great number of stores in most all the major metropolitan areas and most of the surrounding suburbs. If you are ready to earn money and free rewards for trips shopping and to the mall then you are ready to become a mystery shopper.

You have probable asked yourself, "How does one become a mystery shopper?". The answer is that there are two ways to become a mystery shopper. The first is that you must search the internet for weeks or months looking for your own mystery shopping companies that are looking to give you assignments. The second is to sign up with a well established company that has spent years looking into the mystery shopping aspect of the internet and once you are a member, they give you access to their database of mystery shopping companies that they themselves have spent months or years developing.

For my money I chose Secret Shopping Center.Info for my membership. They have a large database and a money back guarantee if it is not what you expected. They are not only my choice however, they are also Scott Welsh of Top Site Reviews.Info best mystery shopping company on the net in his opinion.
